How dietitians get found on Google and AI tools

How people find you online, with honest expectations and no promised rankings.

Does a dietitian really need a website?

If you want clients who don't already know you, yes. A website is the one place you control, it can appear on Google and in AI answers, and it's where doctors check you before referring.

Isn't Instagram enough?

Instagram is great for staying in touch, but people rarely search it when they need a dietitian today. You also don't control it. A website gives your Instagram somewhere to send people.

What's on a good dietitian homepage?

Who you help, what you help with, your credentials, how you work (virtual, in-person, insurance) and one clear next step. A warm photo of you helps a lot, too.

How long until a new site shows on Google?

It can appear within days or weeks, but ranking well for competitive searches usually takes months, and nobody can promise a date. Searching for your own name is usually the first thing that starts working.

What's included for SEO in the plan?

The technical foundation: page titles, descriptions, schema, a sitemap, fast loading, and clear pages built around what your clients look for. Ongoing SEO is separate, from $400 a month.

Can you guarantee rankings?

No, and nobody honestly can. Google and AI tools make their own decisions. We build a strong foundation and tell you the truth about what to expect.

How do dietitians get found in ChatGPT and other AI answers?

Nobody controls those answers, but it helps to have clear facts, a named person with real credentials, the same details on every profile, direct answers on your pages, and real reviews from real clients.

Should I blog? How often?

Blogging helps if you answer real questions your clients ask, and one good post a month beats four thin ones. If you hate writing, a well-built site with strong service pages is still a fine start.

Do I qualify for a Google Business Profile if I'm virtual?

Often not as a normal listing. Google requires a real location or service you provide in person, and virtual offices and mailboxes break its rules. Check Google's current guidelines, as profiles can be suspended.

What should I do first in Google Search Console?

Verify your site, submit your sitemap, then check that your main pages are indexed. After a few weeks, look at which searches show your site. We set this up for you.

How do I get reviews honestly?

Ask real clients, where your privacy rules and licensing board allow it, and never offer rewards or write reviews yourself. Fake reviews are illegal under FTC rules. Think about privacy first, as replying to a review can reveal a client relationship.

Should I be listed on directories?

Yes, on real ones your clients and referrers use. Keep your name, credentials and link the same everywhere. Our free directory, Dietitian Launch, is one option.

What is llms.txt? Do I need it?

It's a short text file that summarises a site for AI tools. It's cheap to add, so we include one, but it isn't magic, and nothing proves it changes what AI tools say.

What is schema, and do I need it?

Schema is hidden code that labels your site's facts for search engines, such as your name, services and questions. It helps machines understand you, though it doesn't guarantee any special display in results.

Does FAQ schema still help?

It no longer produces FAQ rich results in Google Search, as Google stopped showing them in 2026. We still include it because it labels your answers clearly, but the visible answers on the page do the real work.

Why does website speed matter?

Slow sites lose people, especially on phones. Speed is also one of many signals Google looks at, so we build lean pages and check them before launch.

Should I run Google Ads?

Sometimes. Ads can bring people quickly, but they cost money every month and health advertising has rules of its own. A clear website should come first, so that any ads have somewhere good to land.

Can I just use the same words as a successful dietitian's site?

Please don't. It's copyright infringement, and copied text doesn't help you stand out. Your own experience and words are what make people trust you.
